Hey People,

This is not just a mindless forward to be sent to 20 people on your list.. this is about the situation in our own country.. Plz read this with an open mind..

There's a lot happening in Kashmir that we are not aware of.. Media is not showing the details except for one TOI article which detailed the progression of riots and the events that led to it.. Plz dont misunderstand me when I talk abt Kashmiri rights because i dont have a political view on the situation..

Right now whats happening is NOT abt Kashmir being a part of India or Pakistan or being Independent.. It is NOT abt bashing security forces like the human rights people do.. Its NOT abt what separatists or organizations from ACROSS the border do to instigate and infuriate the forces.. Its NOT abt how the Kashmiri pandits were treated a decade ago.. All these issues are complex and need deeper insights and the political will to resolve them..

What it IS about though is the plight of INNOCENT kids.. 12 teenagers have died in the past month falling to police bullets/ tear gas shells and the like.. Its abt what THEY have started thinking of Indians as and what THEY will grow up to be.. Its abt how future generations will perceive US if we let this continue..

I'm not even asking you to believe what I SAY.. Requesting you all to try and find out more abt what ACTUALLY is happening there.. We all are hooked to the net, the least we can do is try and make friends from the troubled areas thru the social networking sites we so frequently use and find out THEIR version of the incidents too before blindly believing what authorities claim..

We OWE this to Humanity and our OWN idea of Our nation.. Like the famous Swades dialogue, 'Koi desh mahan nahi hota, usse mahan BANANA padta hai!" We need to recognize whts happening in our own backyard and try to help those who are suffering..
